UTAG AND SENIOR STAFF OF UNIVERSITIES SHOULD END STRIKE - NATIONAL LABOUR COMMISSION




UTAG and SSA - UoG has resumed a strike which began on August 2, 2021 after warning the government to negotiate with them on the conditions of service for their members. The situation is so severe that upcoming examinations have been halted together with other teaching and learning activities.


Ergo, the National Labour |Commission on the same day the strike was resumed, upon addressing the people of Ghana, has revealed to the public that there are ongoing meetings between them, the University Lecturers and Senior Lecturers to make sure the strike is called off within this week.


Moreover, Ghanaians are also asking whether something has been done about the situation for the lecturers but again, the NLC has said that the meeting will comprise of all parties including the Ghana education Service (GES). Meanwhile, until we hear from UTAG and SSA - UoG, the strike is still in progress!





Even though this has been said, KNUST students has explained that their END OF SECOND SEMESTER EXAMINATION is almost due. They said that the examination is planned to start from the August 9, 2021 which is just next week.


The question that the public with the KNUST student are asking; "will the examination takes place at all?

Due to this, an explanation came from the KNUST Relations Office that, if the strike should continue for two weeks, the University shall be closed down for students to go home according to the University's regulation desire.


Will the Strike be called off?
