The President of the Republic of Ghana tells all members of GNAT that teaching is not a means to become rich as some Teachers perceive.
Teaching is a means to contribute to the Human Capital Development of the Nation and not a means to become a Millionaire or to make millions or billions of money - The President said. He further indicates that, if anyone wants to be so rich, then one has to include other businesses aside from teaching.
His Excellency further stated that there is no country in the world in which a person goes into Teaching in order to be a Billionaire or Millionaire. What he simply made clear is that Teachers should clear their motive to become rich through the act of teaching alone because it is a service to the Nation and not an avenue to become so rich as most Teachers may think.
Before the President made such statements, he reminded the Nation to continually appreciate the service of our Teachers for it is sacrificial work. That is, the teaching job is surrounded by so many unpleasant conditions which one will not desire.
