In a notice dated November 10th, 2020 and signed by the Agricultural Chief Director, Mr. Robert P. Ankobiah, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has placed a ban on the importation of day old chicks, hatching eggs, frozen chicken, poultry products, and poultry feed from five European countries including the Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Denmark and United Kingdom due to a confirmed outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza subtype HSNB in these countries.
This decision was taken by the Ministry upon advice from the Veterinary Services Directorate.
The Ministry of Food and Agriculture further informs importers that all import permits that were issued for such consignment from the Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Denmark, and the United Kingdom have been rendered invalid with immediate effect.
