
The Youth Leadership Parliament of Ghana in a Press Release has condemned the actions of SARS and is calling on the ECOWAS to interfere.

As known by many, for the past few weeks, viral information on social media platforms have shown how Nigeria has been grappling with the brutal killing of protesters, after a series of demonstrations against the abuse of power by the country’s security apparatus.
According to the statement by the Youth Leadership Parliament, Nigerian youth a few weeks ago, began staging peaceful protest nationwide, to express their frustrations and disgruntlement over allegations of torture, extrajudicial killings, robbery, and extortions by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a widely criticized unit of the Nigeria Police Force.
The uproar of these Nigerian Youth was triggered by a video shared on social media, showing SARS officers allegedly killing an unarmed civilian. The situation escalated overnight after viral videos emerged of officers, bullying, and shooting civilians for exercising their fundamental human rights to a peaceful protest in Lekki.
In concern of this, the Youth Leadership Parliament as an umbrella and platform for the voices of many youths across Africa has condemned these acts of brutality against unarmed young citizens by the Nigeria Security Services and is appealing to the President of the Republic of Ghana also the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to intercede in order to help stop this canker.
